Hudson Paint is the brainchild of decorative painter Arno Cornillion.
His idea of developing a color chalkboard paint has been three years in the making. “It started with a client asking for an orange chalkboard,” Arno explains, “which I was surprised to find didn’t already exist.”
The response from friends, clients and local craft fairs was overwhelming. And Hudson Paint was born. Today it is mixed at a family-owned paint manufacturer in the Hudson Valley.
Hudson Paint’s Color Chalkboard Paint liberates chalkboards from black and green. It has inspired colorful mudrooms, kitchens, restaurants and bedroom walls parents encourage children to write on!

Joel Escalona Studio’s “MYDNA” takes its influence from that of the DNA strand (DNA is a double helix where the strands naturally twist as part of their shape). The furniture bookcases follow this design shape and as a result, create an intriguing piece of home décor. If anyone can find one for purchase, let me know. I haven’t been able to spot one. This is a great piece I found while scoring a children/teen home decor and furniture store called PB Teen. It’s a bookshelf set on top of a swivel/caster system that allows you to rotate the shelving unit like a rack at the department store. On one side: a full length mirror… on the other: a bulletin board made of corkboard for posting notes and photos… on the back: hooks for scarves and jewelry. What a great concept!

The Coral Pendant (2004) is the result of two influences: the repeating patterns of ice crystals David Trubridge saw in Antarctica and the similar patterns he saw in underwater coral.
I would love to see this in a room setting as I’m sure the light beaming through the uniquely shaped holes would produce really interesting patterns on the walls.
Does anyone have one?
